The Earth carved by time and the forces of nature brings forth its bounty, an aural shade of which is found in THRILLS new collection on PURPLE SKY MUSIC, the ABONDANCE EP. Track dos demand’s nothing less than to TAKE MY HEART; and it does so without a fight. Filtered celebratory sounds bring forth a playful vibed vocal that proves to be infectious. Anyone getting a taste will certainly be asking where they might procure some. DEEPHOUSE STARTs textures; with its playful rhythms, reverse pads and electric strings; sounds like something taken off a 90's SF mixtape, and from this perspective that can only be a compliment. After the terra, the brisa and the fuego - we find ourselves SENCELESS. A smoothly chopped pattern brings us into a soothing effected vocal, rolling bass pulls us under and then brings us out the other side into a funky Eden. Yet still we move on. HOUSEYHOES has a Ragga call to it that brings a different party swing to the ring of this harvest. This playful, tribal layer proves essential. SMOOTHOCITY closes this day and nights offering up with a sunset guitar licked kiss that makes you want to relive this whole thing over again. Not a bad bag for a sound forager’s trip. At least we can trust that the seasons provide revolutions in which, by their nature, we will be replenished yet again.
